Methodology & caveats
Daily field observations by SFPD patrol officers who rate street conditions at 8 designated locations on a 1-5 scale (1 = poor, 5 = excellent). Observations are collected three times per day: 2:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 6:00 PM. The table below shows the average score for each location and shift during the reporting period. Higher scores indicate better conditions.
